Construction Update: Underslab Plumbing

We drove by the house again yesterday–they’ve put in the underslab plumbing. Once the city inspects it, they’ll pour the slab and finish up the foundation.

The dirt piles behind our house are from our neighbors’ house. They’re including a basement.

I didn’t take a picture, but another house in the cul-de-sac has gone from slab foundation to full framing in two weeks, so I think our house will actually start to look like a house soon. The footprint seems super tiny–it’s hard to imagine that there’s enough space for all of the rooms. But, I’ve read that this is typical and that the sizes will look normal once the walls are up. I’ve put up a Construction Gallery where I’ll put all of the construction photos that we take.

It’s finally starting to feel like spring–check out that sky! We had a great weekend listening to some free concerts in the park (Weezer, Imagine Dragons, Rihanna, Lady Antebellum).

  1. I know how you feel about the footprint feeling small. I am feeling the same way and I remember that from 25 years ago too. Things are bound to move fast now.
